Backstage in Budapest... ...we started to wonder whether each city has a character that defines its inhabitants. How open are they? Do they love art? Could cities fall in love if they knew each other? Are there matching cities? We went looking for answers and created our own tours while we were at it. Our versions of Buda and Pest explore a modern & old, rebellious & conservative, never boring & mysterious city. Follow your dreams.. and us!
Bogi Bogi was born in Budapest, but has travelled and lived in Germany, Italy, Spain and Egypt. She studied media, communication and culture management, then followed her childhood dream and became a tourist guide in 2008. Apart from B Side Tours she works for Andy Steves’ Weekend Student Adventures as well as other companies including BudaBike. She speaks English, German, Italian and Spanish. When she is not leading tours, you can find her at the front row of her favourite artists' concerts or playing badminton. If you want to hear her talk about Budapest, Baths and Boyz II Men, listen to episode 1 of the podcast series with Andy Steves. You could also see her on board of the American Airlines video promoting the city as “Bogi, tour guide, Budapest” in July 2018.
Balázs Balázs was born in Buda, and grew up in Pest - the city literally flows through his veins. As a child, he also lived in Spain and Portugal. He studied international relations and economics but has already started working as a tour guide at the age of 18. He has had the opportunity to not only show Budapest but other attractions of Hungary to people from all cultures and ages ever since. Balázs speaks Spanish and Portuguese besides English.

Daniel Daniel was born and raised downtown Budapest. Ever since an early age, he has been interested in natural sciences so he went on to study physics at university. His neverending passion for both his home and its history led him to guiding: he has been doing tours in English and Spanish since 2011. Daniel knows the city like the back of his hand, so he can easily show you the best spots of Budapest. In his free time he loves to chill at Lake Balaton or go snowboarding in France.
Barbi Barbi was born in Budapest but has travelled a lot. She speaks English, Italian and can get by in Spanish as well. She lived and worked in Italy and Mexico, visited Costa Rica and explored the US. Her experiences abroad helped to see her own city with the eyes of a traveller and realize how amazing this place really is. She has a unique relationship with Budapest though. Some days they split up, others they hook up, but one thing never changes: both of them keep surprising each other and never get bored of it. Barbi's favourite things include sunbathing, dancing, tasting wine and trying out new foods at new places.
Mátyás Mátyás was born in Romania and emigrated to communist Hungary in '88. He studied to become a Calvinist minister in Budapest but ended up graduating as a theologian instead. He speaks English, Dutch and German. He really likes to swim and learn new languages and is a human and animal rights activist.
